Cosmetic injections with muscle relaxants
Benefits of Anti-Wrinkle treatments
For more than two decades muscle relaxants have been used in aesthetic medicine to treat mimic wrinkles. Botulinum is a bacterial protein that paralyses the muscles around the treated wrinkle region for a certain period of time. Thus, during wrinkle treatment with muscle relaxant, the already existing wrinkles are smoothed and new wrinkles caused by facial expressions cannot develop.
Treatment areas for injections with muscle relaxants
Muscle relaxant is mainly used to treat wrinkles in the upper third of the face (frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead lines, “crow’s feet” wrinkles around the eyes). They are caused by the repeated and sometimes habitual tensing of facial muscles. Expression lines can make us look tense and exhausted. That is why more and more women and men are opting for non-surgical wrinkle treatment today.
Through the gentle wrinkle treatment with a muscle relaxant, wrinkles can be reduced effectively restoring a youthful and fresh appearance. Especially if the wrinkle has already penetrated deeper into the skin, additional padding of the wrinkle with a dermal filler (hyaluronic acid) may be suitable.
The muscle relaxant can also be used to treat excessive sweating, teeth grinding and in some cases even reduce migraine. Treatment with muscle relaxant can also be used to achieve a slimming of the face.
